Must have to protect LCD screenMay 08, 2009
By Dsl Creative Before I bought my A900 I purchased the A700. I didn't get a protective screen at first. My camera fell off my car seat and hit my tripod and put a big scratch on my LCD screen. Never again will I make the same mistake. When you are spending a lot of money on a camera body it's insane to not spend 10 or 15 bucks to protect the LCD screen. I now how protective screens on both my A700 and A900.
Do your self a favor and get one. Also don't forget that when you are viewing a screen with almost a million pixels, a small blemish can cause significant distortion in the view.

I have to admit, some underestimate the level of durability that the screen for the a900/850/700 have. If they're made of the same glass that was on my a100, then they'll stand up to the scuffs the screen protector nabs on a daily basis, as my a100 was used heavily for a year without nary a scratch on it. Glass>Plastic. But, if something were to get underneath the screen protector, the friction between the two will cause scratches on the screen, which occurred on both my a900 and a700. If you're going to get this, apply a cheap screen protector [like the 5 PACK LCD Screen Protector for Apple iPod Touch 2nd Generation] underneath so your screen remains immaculate.

Don't Think Twice - Just Buy ItJun 08, 2009
By Photo/Video Gearhead As suggested by the DSL Creative reviewer, you must have this protective cover for the LCD screen of your Sony A900. I have used this cover for less than one year, and despite the fact that I am very careful with my camera, this cover is already covered with scratches. Had I not used this cover, the scratches would be on the LCD screen itself. I can always replace the cover for less than 20 dollars, but I can't replace the LCD screen. Just buy it. Enough said.

Protection for your camera's back panel displayDec 30, 2010
By Robert G. This protective cover works wonderfully while preserving your ability to clearly see the back panel of your Sony a850/a900 DSLR. I have one of these for my Sony a700 as well. I used to use those peel film protectors, but those get dirty and end up peeling off, etc. These clean easily, are very durable, and let you keep your back panel in top condition. With these also snapping in and out easily, they let you clean the back panel easily and get back to shooting fast and easy.
A must have, and cheap insurance too! Unlike the film covers, this acts like a second cover, almost like using a UV filter on your lens to protect the glass, but for your back panel.

Bad news protector coverNov 23, 2011
By David De Bar This thing is horrible! Dust and grit can get caught between the cover and the screen, where it can then be forced into the screen causing permanent damage. It introduces glare. My A900 was still under warranty, Sony replaced the screen that was damaged by the protector.
