4A nice case for a jewel of a cameraMar 24, 2004

The case is a useful device as it enables you to use the camera and then easily tuck it away into its case, with a minimum of fuss.

Because of its snug fit, there is no room for additional accessories such as a spare battery or a CF card. Sony also sells a larger strap which incorporates a small pouch to fit such items into.

It is advertised as fitting the camera with its hood mounted. I must confess to being unable to achieve this -- perhaps because the case is new, it may stretch slightly over time. However, the hood does reverse and fit onto the lens enabling it to fit into the case.

Sony has thought of everything -- the camera is probably the most intelligently designed (and beautifully built) cameras on the market today.

If you are one of those that travels with everything, then a dedicated camera and accessory case is probably more for you. However, given the design of this case, it could easily fit into a larger bag, enabling a day trip with camera only with some protection. One other downside, is that you will need to remove the bottom part of the case (which separates and attaches to the base of the camera) to charge the battery, as that section of the case prevents access to the power charging port at the rear of the camera.

I give it four and a half stars.

4Bit pricey but high qualityDec 06, 2004

High quality leather case - snug fit. Takes a bit of getting used to as far as getting it on and off but it is as advertised.

As another reviewer mentioned, this isn't your all-in-one camera bag but rather a protective case for sticking the camera in some other bag.

Also, the camera has straps, so I prefer the case not to have duplicate straps.

Note that the case comes in two pieces, with one piece staying with the camera - it does block the battery cover on the bottom and media connections door on the back. Not really an issue as it pops off with two snaps . . . . nice product - four stars only because of the price.

4It is what it is, it just isn't any more than that....May 03, 2005

The cover for the F828 is just a cover. It isn't the thing you carry your camera in for long treks, but it is perfectly serviceable to take for a day when you'll be taking pictures.

There are no compartments or pockets to hold lenses, memory cards or anything extraneous, but it is an attractive, well-fit cover that comes off quickly (once you're used to how it works) and goes back on easily.

I actually have the suggested bag for the F828 and use it when I need a bag for a couple of days. The cover is used for day to day stuff.

I am glad I bought this. It fits the camera like a glove, and I am assured that the camera will not get scratched or dented. It is good protection.

2No Strap?Jun 01, 2004

I bought this rip off. It's nearly imposible to attach to the DSC-F828. And then comes the surprise, it doesn't come with strap or the little attachment that carries memory sticks ect. Very disapointed.
