It has a maximum guide number of 148 feet or 45 meter at 85mm focal length (ISO 100).The projection angle of the flashgun is set automatically to match the lens' focal length ranging from 24mm wide-angle to 85mm medium-telephoto. It also incorporates a built-in reflecting plate and diffuser that can be slid out from the top of the flash head for soft lighting effects. The bounce flash head can be tilted 90° upwards and can be swiveled 180° to the left and 90° to the right. In addition, the flash can also be set manually at 6 different power output levels or can be utilized as a wireless slave.

This product has all the features of the most sophisticated Flash units, but not a lot of power(though the guide # is accurate as claimed by manufacturer). The finish(build quality) is dissapointing. I guess if you are not looking for a lot of power, then this price is as low as it gets, for a similar product.

This is really a great flash for the money. It works amazingly well with my DIY fongdong diffuser, Its consistent, I love the fact it has TTL metering, and through my tests it has been 100% spot on with exposure.
The slave works great, If your looking for a budget flash you should get this one!

I'm using this flash on my Sony Alpha 33. The flash is not terribly strong, covering only 24-80mm. This range is fine with me. The build, speed, workmanship, etc is OK. The only serious weakness is that it's not giving enough light in TTL position. Then you have to switch to "mode" alternatives, which is a little tricky & you have to adjust to every given situation to have even an acceptable shot. In my hands, shooting portarits of people about 3 yards away ( & using the bouncing light ), modes of 1/2 & 1/4 worked fine. Slave position works similarly well. As indicated by others, it's worth the price.

The one thing my sony a200 was never very good at with the lenses I have is indoor shots. It was embarrassing to switch to a small point and shoot once indoors. This has made my camera go from indoor loser to hero. In the 30x30 room I used it in, I had no issue whatsoever. With new batteries, the cycle time is fast, and it synched perfectly with my camera, automatically adjusting to whatever the camera read to it. Full Auto. The construction is fairly cheap, but expected for the price. The back screen is simple, but backlit.
