quite good for the priceDec 28, 2008
By mc I bought this lens for my Panasonic Lumix FZ18. It is fairly good for the price. It looks like a solid lens and it comes with a converter. I will post a couple of pictures taken at night and during the day.
Waste of moneyJun 04, 2010
By C. Helms Spend the extra money and buy a better lens. This is a cheap piece of junk.
Does Not Fit Listed CameraJan 02, 2010
By C. Pagani This lens is shown as fitting the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28, among others. But as far as I can figure out, it does not. Not really even close. So it's useless as far as doing what is advertised. And I noticed someone with the DMC-FZ18 (which it is ALSO supposed to fit) had the same problem.
I think the seller has at least some responsibility to verify that a product fits the cameras it advertises before selling it as such. Too bad, too, because it might have been fun.
Had to glue it on aqdapter ring to make it "work". Without autofocus thoughNov 07, 2009
By J. W. Van Borselen It didn't come with any documentation to go by. There was only one way to fit it on the camera. In this way there was no fish eye effect. The only solution was to remove the macro lens and glue the lens on one of the adapter rings that fits straight on to the camera (lumix FZ18). This works only with manual focus though. 47stphoto store was willing to exchange the lens as they suspected a problem with the glass. Because I live abroad the cost would be too high. Because the lens is quite cheap compared to the competitors I still gave a two star rating. If you live abroad I would not recommend buying this lens. In the US it is no problem as 47stphoto is willing to exchange the lens or give a refund.
Manual focus is a hassle because every time you change the picture mode or play back the picture you have to manual focus again.
