perfect replacement for DK-16 on Nikon D40Dec 09, 2008

I lost the original eyecup piece on my D40 last year because it just fell off by itself. I put it back on a few times but the last time it fell off without my noticing it. The manual states that the original eyepiece is the DK-16, but I didn't want to get another one that would have the same problem.
The DK-20 is a great replacement eyecup for the D40 because it slides onto the lip found around the viewfinder and locks into place. I am confident that I won't be losing this piece because it fits so well and it is so secure. If you need a replacement for your D40/D40x I recommend it!

Bought my D70 used and it came without an eyecup (apparently the factory D70 piece did not stay attached well and was easily lost). Ordered this as a replacement. It fits great, and physically snaps onto the camera body so it's not going anywhere. Definitely a good replacement

As with most other D5000 owners, I am very jealous of the latest iteration, the new D5100. Among being better a better camera in every single way, the eyecup on the D5100 was far superior. I ordered and the DK-20 and popped it on my D5000 and it slid on like a charm. While there are eyecups that will shield all periphery light, the DK-20 will mildly attempt to do that. In my opinion it is still better than the DK-24.
