4It recharges my batteryDec 09, 2010
By James "Just A Guy"
I purchased this charger to replace the OEM Sony unit that I lost.

I put the battery from my Sony Webie camera in this charger. After a while the light turns green and the battery is charged.

The unit also comes with a 12v auto plug, which may come in handy some day while traveling, I haven't used it yet.

The overall quality of construction is clearly not up to Sony OEM standards, but then neither is the price.

I'm satisfied with this purchase.

When I went to use this on my camping trip it worked just fine. It even came with a European Outlet converter which was pretty fancy.

4Works fne so farJun 27, 2010

I lost my original Sony NP-BG1 battery charger, and so I decided to take a chance and buy this cheap one. I've only charged my camera battery once, so I can't comment on how many times the charger will work. It did charge my completely empty battery though (I think I have read reviews saying that some cheap battery chargers won't charge a completely empty battery, but this charger definitely does work in that situation). I still have not had to recharge the battery since I first did it, despite 5 days of constant use on vacation in Disney. Even after those 5 days of frequent use, the battery still says it is nearly full. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about the charger. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I've only used the charger once, and I don't know if it will last or not. So far so good though!

1It doesn't work. The rating is 'no stars'.May 13, 2010

I plugged it in and it didn't charge the battery. I don't know if the car-charger part works. I used the charger that came with the camera and the battery was easily re-charged.

I am surprised at Amazon for selling this stuff. And angry. They also let companies advertise used, reconditioned international telephones as new (quad band, unlocked cell phones); you'e be in Europe before you found out it was a rip-off. Recently a third party book company "lost" three deliveries of the same book before they finally refunded my money; I think they never really had a copy of the book. All this in the last two months or so.

The reason I buy through Amazon is because I can rely on them. Now I am beginning to doubt that.

2Not so good!!Apr 21, 2011

Since i got this in Jan. 2011, I used this battery charger about 3 times because i have multiple batteries. all of batteries are dead and when i tried to charge them, the charger was not working. the lights on the charger work but the batteries are not charging. The product worked fine before this. I usually keep it in my desk so it hasn't been exposed to anything that would cause it to stop working or damage it but the product quality is not good if if stops working so quickly. i have not even had it for 6 mos. it does work well when it does work!!
