Poorly ConstructedJul 30, 2011
By Tim Korosec Great capacity at a cheap price, I use these with my Sound Devices 788T mixer/recorder and they last almost all day. They however are very poorly constructed. I've had 4 break on me so far. The solder joint between the socket and the wire on both the positive and negative connections is very poorly done, they break easily allowing the socket to pull out of the battery. I have had to repair them by re-soldering the connection then taping the battery back together. I would not purchase this product again if I were inserting/removing the battery more than once.

Ultimate Power for 1/10 the costNov 07, 2009

STOP being hoodwinked by BIG NAMES -if you want all day power (I have NEVER drained one at a shoot)- and buy for performance, price and quality. These batteries rock. Before I bought these i limped through photoshoots wondering if I'd make it on the power from my Sony Lithium 550's. Now, all I worry about is making the pictures. Get 2 and forever be powered! I am a pro photographer and shoot mostly on location with rather large production gear. My work is highly dependent on high end digital and THAT requires high end power sans plugs. Other than talent and inspiration, Honda generators and fresh excellent and powerful recharge-able batteries drive the work. If you need to make the work sing, stop worrying about the power. Check out [...]dot com for a gander at some of the stuff we shoot with these batteries as part of our location system.

Okay, not great.Aug 20, 2010
By J. Lopez I read other people's reviews and was sold. But my experience turns out not to be the same. These batteries are barely better than the 3 year-old Sony batteries they replaced. My Sound Devices recorder was going about 5 hours when the Sony's were new, but had dipped to under 2 hours on a full charge. These batteries give me about 3 hours of use.

Will Not Work on Sony HVL-BPA Video LightFeb 18, 2010
By William O. Wood

First the color is Silver not Black. Second, while the battery works on my Sony HXR-NX5U camcorder, my HVL-BPA refuses to use it! When I run the Bat Test, it keeps flashing, indicating a battery error. Sony's newer products may have circuits to detect non-Sony batteries. The HVL-BPA accepts and uses NP-F770 and NP-F970 Sony made batteries.

Don't trust any other "off brand"Feb 19, 2012
By jtirrell I can't say enough good things about this company and their customer service. These are great batteries, I have 3 for my Canon and 2 for my Sony camera. They are strong construction, great capacity, all around good batteries. What I must say is order 2x what you need - you can't afford not to. Why not have extra power? Why not buy a spare for peace of mind? If something should happen to one of your batteries because you are using "off brand" non OEM batteries, you have more than enough batteries anyway and you still spent less than you would have for OEM batteries. So far these Sony batteries are great, I plan on using them mainly for lights, but they will find their way onto my NX5 from time to time. I am a pro, and I always have more batteries on hand than I need in case one gets lost, fails, forgot to charge...you just never know. I have had the LP-E6 batteries for my Canon for about 7 months and I just had one fail. I contacted Maximal Power customer service (based in California) and they gladly replaced my battery and I had the part in under a week. These come with a 3 year warranty and the service is great!
