Works in Pentax Optio W60Jan 24, 2009
By TwoUptons This battery was originally marketed for Nikons, but Pentax uses the same battery in their Optio W60, and this one works fine. So far, battery life with this one has been at least as long as the factory battery, and I've been through a couple of recharge cycles. No issues with the Pentax charger, and the price was definitely right...

Perfect replacementJan 20, 2009
By K. Siegal

Spent a day at the San Diego Zoo shooting hundreds of photos and movie clips, and having a spare battery was the key to half of it.
No difference that I could see from the original battery to the "spare", and the price is right if you're doing a lot of shooting.

Works goodMay 07, 2009
By A. Yan I use this battery for my Nikon S550. The battery life is just as good as the original. Good battery for its price.

Great little batteryMay 13, 2009

This is a great little battery. I picked up two for my new camera and I've been taking pictures like crazy. I always have the spare with me even though the battery in the camera lasts forever. But at this price, why take a chance of running out of power right when that perfect picture comes along. I would highly recommend this battery to everyone.

Pentax W80 Battery Shoot Out !!Mar 20, 2010
By Chicago John
"Rirelguvat vf rinarfprag."
There is an old saying, "You get what you pay for."
There is another old saying, "Some things are too good to be true."
Here is a new saying: Sometimes old sayings should be empirically verified.
=============== BATTERY SHOOT OUT: =================
Contenders: At $29 on Amazon, the stock Optio W80 battery, Pentax D-LI78 680 mAh Hoys Corp, Made in China 3009-08-25-BCB
The $6.69 Maximal Power (for Pentax DL-178/ Nikon ENEL-11 880 mAh, cells made in Japan, assembled in China
Preconditioning: Both batteries: Brand new. Fully drained and recharged twice using the Pentax W80 battery charger.
Testing temperature: The low cost one went first: 32 - 34 degrees F. The "champ" had a slight advantage at 36 - 40 degrees F.
Camera: Pentax W80 THE best trail-worthy camera for-the-buck available. See my Amazon review.
Mode: Interval Shoot. Every ten seconds for up to 1000 shots maximum
Resolution: 12 Mega Pixels at best *** Quality, daylight without flash
Subject: Bird Feeders after snow fall in Chicagoland
Medium: 8 GB card newly formatted
Result: 956 pictures Champion Pentax D-LI78 battery $49.95 list, Amazon price $29 888 pictures Low-cost Contender at $6.69 (with free shipping on orders over $25)
Interpretation:
The results of this experiment apply to a sample of only ONE from each population. Results may vary for each individual. For example, what if "rejects" from the Pentax production line were labeled "Maximal Power"? Maybe I just happened to get one that performed very closely to the gold standard.
But based upon my results, I have purchase two more and I will test them using the same protocol and report the results attached to this review.
Postscript: The Pentax Optio W80 together with a good "noiseware" program and these low cost batteries is a rocking combo for some "off-the-road" work where you have to leave your DSLR at home, or in the trunk. (now i get to go through 2000 high res bird feeder photos looking for the one or two I know have to be prize winners... even a blind squirrel has to have a nut in 2000 pictures, right? :-)
